OUTREACH, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

The video presentations, Power point presentations, and project reports serve as useful Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education tools for area schools, colleges, and universities and also provide valuable information to the public at large about applied research projects conducted at U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facilities in Ohio and Kentucky.

The Virtual Symposium is a joint collaboration between the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University (OU) and the Kentucky Research Consortium for Energy and the Environment at the University of Kentucky (UK). These activities are funded by grants administered by DOE’s Office of Environmental Management Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office.

The Virtual Symposium provides online presentations and resources related to OU activities conducted at the DOE Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) site near Piketon, Ohio and UK activities conducted at the DOE Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP) site near Paducah, Kentucky.
